Mid-State Technical College will host its spring graduation on Saturday, May 17. The outdoor ceremony is designed to celebrate all graduating students, their families and invited guests. The event begins at 11 a.m. on the Wisconsin Rapids Campus. Diesel & Heavy Equipment Technician graduate Reid Tilberg, Arpin, will deliver the student address. Prevail Bank Shred Event Helps United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties
As a result of Prevail Bank’s Community Shred Day event in Wisconsin Rapids, $2,227 was raised for United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties, supporting families and individuals in need throughout the area. Both Prevail Bank and Bank-A-Count pledged to donate $1 for every pound of paper shredded, up to a $1,000 each --- and the community rose to the challenge, bringing in a whopping 1,715 pounds of documents to be safely destroyed and recycled. Prevail Bank Supports Local United Way with $4,000 Donation
Prevail Bank provided $4,000 to United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties in support of its financial literacy programs and to assist those individuals and families who are employed but don’t earn enough to achieve basic financial stability. The United Way was one of 29 nonprofit organizations selected to receive funding through Prevail Bank’s Charitable Contributions program this spring. New HVAC-R program now offered at Mid-State
Mid-State Technical College is offering a new Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC-R) Technician associate in applied science program. Applications are now being accepted for the 60-credit program. Mid-State’s HVAC-R program students learn to install, maintain and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems in residential, commercial and industrial settings. Mid-State brings back nursing summer camp for high schoolers
This June, Mid-State Technical College will host two sessions of HealthQuest: Nursing Exploration Camp for high school students to explore the role of a registered nurse. Students can choose to attend the camp on Tuesday, June 10, or Tuesday, June 17. Each camp date will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the Wisconsin Rapids Campus. Jail Officer Academy program now available at Mid-State
Mid-State Technical College is now offering a Jail Officer Academy program to prepare learners for positions as corrections officers in county jails. The 200-hour program is accredited by the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) and fulfills state certification requirements. Student housing is now available for Mid-State Technical College students at The Villas at Marshfield.
