WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WISCONSIN – The City of Wisconsin Rapids will be formally designated as a Purple Heart City by the Wisconsin Military Order of the Purple Heart during a ceremony held on May 21 at 6 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 430 W Jackson St. Purple Heart recipients are invited to participate in the event, so they can be recognized for their service and sacrifice. WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The City of Wisconsin Rapids will begin reconstruction of East Jackson Street this month, from East Grand Avenue to the Jackson Street bridge in downtown Wisconsin Rapids. Work will be completed in two phases: •Phase 1 will run from East Grand Avenue to 3rd Street/Market Street.
